If a picture paints a thousand words

This blog is a place for me to work on my photography. My goal is to submit a new picture every day and to get better as the moments go by. I take all pictures with my digital camera. I worked for years with a 35 mm minolta, and this is a learning experience for me. I am afraid that I got lazy and allowed the camera to choose most of the settings for me. This is my journey of learning how to shoot a camera that is not in a program mode. It is harder than I ever imagined. That makes this challenge both a new experience and a joy for me.

Rhubarb - Day

I went outside today and received a wonderful surprise!  The rhubarb was coming up in the front yard, between the pine trees.  We do love our rhubarb.  It reminds me of summer pies and jam.  I can almost taste the coming of spring!

I love spring anywhere,
but if I could choose,
I would always greet it in a garden.  ~Ruth Stout

  3. That is pretty--a colorful feast for the eyes. Too bad I don't like the taste!

My mom used to make strawberry-rhubarb pie, which she loved.

  4. Patty Ann,
I had to laugh because we had rhubarb grow in our back yard when I was growing up and my mom made everything using rhubarb; UGH...I learned not to like it.
so tell me, what do you do with it?

  5. I love rhubarb. I make jam with it, ice cream topping and pies or cobbler. Usually, it is much better when paired with any of your favorite berries. We have a strawberry patch, so that is usually our berry of choice.
