My husband found this old tree and loved the way it looked, so our family drove out to see it. It is said that some trees grow twisted to protect themselves from the high winds. By twisting, they make their trunks stronger and less likely to be broken. I always find it interesting how nature works to protect each species.
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Wow. I've seen bent trees but that one is remarkable. And the other trees around it are still straight?
