If a picture paints a thousand words

This blog is a place for me to work on my photography. My goal is to submit a new picture every day and to get better as the moments go by. I take all pictures with my digital camera. I worked for years with a 35 mm minolta, and this is a learning experience for me. I am afraid that I got lazy and allowed the camera to choose most of the settings for me. This is my journey of learning how to shoot a camera that is not in a program mode. It is harder than I ever imagined. That makes this challenge both a new experience and a joy for me.

Favorite Tradition - Day 99

This is one of our most favorite traditions fo the holiday season.  We read the book and watch the movie.  We make hot chocolate (the mexican version with cinnamon in it) and we devote an entire evening to relaxing and having fun as a family.

"Christmas, my child, is love in action.
Everytime we love, every time we give,
it's Christmas".

  1. I am with you on this...love this movie and the book; so very precious! When it was PC to give student Christmas presents and watch movies in school we would read the book then watch the movie and do as you do; have hot cocoa and I'd give each of them a bell attached to a ribbon and a cross stictch name plaquard...the higher ups certainly took the fun out of that!
    But I love the message!

  2. ...I remember the whole class went to see this and we were late. Sat in the front row. Not a good place to be with this movie. I was SO dizzy when we left. But it is a sweet movie. We have the book to. We buy 1 Christmas book every year.

  3. One of my absolute favorite books growing up! I am so sad that I'm not allowed to share Christmas stories with my preschool class... sigh. I love the quote too!!
